Mountain Peak Vineyards
Napa, CA
NATURAL HARMONY  Designed to enhance its rural valley setting, vineyards and nature, the new tasting room and offices are set amongst natural rock and towering black oaks. Adjacent to the tasting complex, the sloping hillside provides an ideal location for the winery fermentation and barrel storage in caves.
CHOREOGRAPHY OF VISITOR EXPERIENCE  The visitor experience is carefully designed, starting from the drive up remote Soda Canyon Road, through the mountains, to arrival under the oak trees. The tasting room and large terrace maximize sublime views over the vineyards, Napa Valley and Mt. St. Helena.
PAINTERLY APPROACH TO BUILDINGS IN THE LANDSCAPE  A low one-story architecture of simple solid planes, glassy links and natural palette of stone, wood, and metal complement garden landscape, enhance visitor experience and support harmony within the surrounding site.
