Dublin Station will utilize the last remaining housing site within the Dublin BART Transit Village. This transit oriented development provides very high density housing directly adjacent to a BART station.
Located adjacent to the Interstate 580 corridor, a primary design goal was to develop a project concept that would present a clear, memorable, graphically powerful image to the multitude of people driving by. The overall building mass composes down into 5-, 6- and 7-story components with the tallest elements utilizing dramatic sloping roof forms to differentiate them from other building elements. A two-story podium provides parking for residents and guests.
The site plan maximizes connectivity to BART through a landscaped public plaza and dramatic two-story lobby and leasing area at the southeast corner of the site. The two courtyards also provide a variety of outdoor opportunities. Numerous amenity spaces take advantage of the site’s unique opportunities for views and provide places for the community to interact.
BAR’s design approach has been tailored to align with Katerra’s fully integrated design-build delivery method. As Katerra’s collaborating partner, BAR is uniquely positioned to assist in optimizing this unique manufacturing and delivery process that has the potential to significantly transform our industry.
Katerra’s single source procurement and manufacturing gives BAR the opportunity to innovate all building systems which include prefabricated panelized wall systems. The project is a structural hybrid with panelized vertical elements and CLT floors and roofs.
