Chestnut Square Senior Housing is the first phase of a multigenerational mixed-income community in the heart of Livermore’s North Side district. The development provides 72 affordable rental apartments for seniors.
In addition to housing, Chestnut Square Senior Housing provides open spaces close to supermarkets, ACE transit, retail and restaurants in the downtown area. Five of the 72 senior apartments are set aside for formerly homeless households, with supportive services provided by a third party provider in collaboration with MidPen. Other amenities include a community room for resident gatherings, a computer lounge, a craft room, a balance studio for group exercise classes, and onsite services programming. All spaces are designed to allow the senior residents, especially those with mobility constraints, to preserve their access to important day-to-day activities and engagement in their community.
