BAR Architects was selected to develop a comprehensive long-range plan for improvements to four components of the Meadow Club. This included the renovation and expansion of the original 1927 clubhouse building, functional and aesthetic improvements to the golf house, new pool area facilities and general site improvements.
At the clubhouse, only the original ballroom, which embodies the club's unique history and culture, was retained. The ballroom was carefully renovated and expanded, and a new and relocated entry, lobby, history gallery and pre-function lounge were added, enhancing the arrival of members and their guests. Off of the entry, lobby and history gallery, a new central outdoor terrace expands the club's useable area and provides opportunities for socializing around its massive fireplace while enjoying the spectacular views of the golf course and beautiful hills. Other additions included new administration areas, a banquet kitchen and other back-of-house facilities.
At the golf house new dining, lounge facilities and exterior building details were redefined to reflect the character of the adjacent clubhouse. A new men’s lounge, expanded men's locker room and an outdoor dining terrace were added. A new pool building provides locker and shower areas as well as kitchen, dining and storage facilities. As part of the general site improvements, the main parking areas were visually screened from the adjacent fairway and clubhouse entry and a new parking area near the pool adds much needed parking spaces and improves general site circulation.
