BarBer's-Q, named after the chef Stephan Barber, is the first in a newly formed collection of restaurants specializing in slow-cooked barbeque and classic American comfort food with a brisk take-out business. The restaurant is designed in a casual, contemporary style with lined oak casework, white marble counters, upholstered faux leather banquets, and concrete floors. Folding wood docks from the main dining area open to an outdoor dining terrace, with expanding seating from sixty seats to ninety seats. The restaurant has counter seating and a back bar highlighting a range of Napa Valley red and white wines. The lighting, sound selection, photography collection, and music selection was well thought through to give patrons the best sensory experience possible. Extensive research by the design team included a tour of barbeque restaurants throughout the Deep South and Mid-West.
