INSPIRATION / SELECTED PROJECTS
“We need space that is not only a refuge but that is able to allow for and inspire our lives.”
— Tatiana Bilbao
What makes really great design?
Great design sparks a range of emotions, connections, and experiences – anywhere from curiosity and comfort to surprise.
Name one architect or building that has inspired you, and why.
I am inspired by David Chipperfield’s value of urbanity. He defines the vitality of urbanity as spaces relying on “the density and diversity of peoples, cultures and activities, their interactions and the overlapping of public and private, old and new.” In the realm of housing in urban cities, his work acknowledges and resembles its environment and urbanity in a timeless manner, rather than the architecture typology itself.
Favorite architecture term.
“Multitude”, because the word captures the collective of anything and/or everything.
Design interest.
I have an interest on how the natural environment can be re-introduced to architecture in a way that allows for spaces to create variable and unpredictable experiences.
