Adjacent to the famous Jockey Club in the hills overlooking Hong Kong, BAR was asked by Sino Land to develop design improvements to this highly prestigious, single-family home development. The challenge was to create a design solution—while the project was under construction—that would enhance the project’s market value through improvements to plans, elevations, materials and details. Plan modifications were carefully considered to minimize any reworking of the existing construction and to avoid potentially costly delays. BAR studied the design of five, three-story villa prototypes that range in size from 4850 to 5900 gsf. The 10,000 gsf community clubhouse facility was also redesigned. BAR proposed simple, but effective modifications to plans that revised proportions, materials and details for the elevations.
