BAR was hired to redefine an existing office park that also contains some retail and residential uses. Developed during late 1960s, Park Place is an example of the threadbare suburban development typical of that time. The goal of the new master plan was to create a pedestrian-oriented and vibrant mixed use neighborhood stitching together the existing buildings with a new network of retail and residential streets. The plan focuses on a new main street with retail on the ground floor and cinema, office and residential uses on the upper floors. The parking is all in structures with a careful shared parking analysis that minimizes the total number of spaces. BAR’s work included the master planning and more detailed building designs for 17 new buildings.
