Located in the heart of Redwood City, CA, the 1.76 acre site faces the historic library building and the new City Hall. Residential building clusters located on either side of the paseo form two generous, semi-private, landscaped courtyards. There are 81 affordable rental units in a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom plans. The residential buildings feature a mix of flats and townhouses and rise three to four stories above courtyard level. Apartments range from 500 to 1,330 gsf.
Units are accessed directly from the courtyards, an upper gallery or from stoops (no corridors). This allows all units to be desirable "through" units in a project with a density of approximately 46 units per acre. Retail, cafes and community services line the streets at ground level. A public paseo connects Main Street to City Hall, reinforcing the downtown pedestrian fabric. A daycare center and six live-work lofts are accessed from a public plaza shared with City Hall.
