BAR Architects Designing New Fountaingrove Clubhouse Following Tubbs Fire Destruction
The strength and selfless charity demonstrated by California communities in the face of recent firestorm devastation around the state reminds us all that true character is revealed by our response to difficult circumstances. These recent catastrophes have forged countless stories of courage and compassion, each serving as beacons of hope and inspiration. Included in this is The Fountaingrove Club, a 30-year-old Santa Rosa establishment located directly in the path of the Tubbs Fire of 2017—the second most destructive wildfire in California history. The fire destroyed almost all of the structures on the Fountaingrove property, as well as hundreds of homes in the surrounding residential communities. But, due to the tireless efforts of the club’s CFO, Board of Directors and strong member commitment, the club is well on its way to recovery. BAR Architects is honored to serve as the architect for the Fountaingrove rebuilding, helping this committed group to re-envision the property’s master plan and design a new clubhouse that builds community and fosters inclusiveness. Jeff Goodwin, BAR's Principal-in-Charge, along with all of us at BAR, are proud to be part of a team that continually proves that optimism and perseverance can conquer even the greatest obstacles.
