Stonebrook Court Featured in California Home and Design
San Francisco, CA -- Showcasing its spectacular transformation, the renovation of Stonebrook Court, in Los Altos, CA was featured in the February issue of California Home and Design.
Working with architect Richard Beard, AIA of BAR Architects, and interior designer Stephen Suzman, the owners of the circa 1914, Tudor-style mansion restored the home to its original splendor.
BAR Architects paid particular attention to preserving the beauty and grandeur of the formal rooms while transforming formerly dark areas into bright and functional family living areas. BAR's extensive interior and exterior renovation included the addition of a new living area with kitchen, breakfast room, butler's pantry, family room, wine cellar and 3-car garage and the restoration of the library, dining room, master suite, children's bedroom and a grand ballroom.
Originally constructed by British industrialist Percy Morgan between 1914 and 1916 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Stonebrook Court is a majestic estate rich in European tradition, and contains many unique architectural details including 16th century columns from a Florentine palace and an ornate gilded and painted ceiling from the Grimani Palace in Venice.
