BAR Principal elevated to AIA College of Fellows
Washinton D.C. - Richard Beard,AIA;Principal at BAR Architects has been elevated to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects.
Elevation to Fellowship is one of the highest honors that the AIA can bestow upon a member, and signifies Richard's profound contributions to the profession of architecture. It also recongnizes his role in influencing BAR's unique and valuable contributions to the culture of architecture and design in the Bay Area.
Richard joined BAR in 1980 and became a principal in 1991. Since then, he has been instrumental in expanding the firm and diversifying its portfolio. He currently leads the firm's Custom Home Studio, and has served as Principal-in-Charge of a number of the firm's award-winning luxury senior housing projects in Japan.
The formal investiture ceremony will take place on June 11,2010 at the annual convention of the AIA in Miami, Florida.
