BAR Architects welcomes Senior Designer William Duncanson

William joins BAR with over 15 years of experience in architectural design with a specific focus in mixed-use, multifamily and affordable housing. A LEED Accredited Professional, he also possesses extensive experience working successfully with numerous San Francisco city agencies and communities to create high-quality infill housing. His hire supports BAR’s continued commitment to creating quality livable and sustainable communities.

Previous to BAR, William was a principal with Ian Birchall and Associates and served as lead designer for several projects including 178 Townsend, 2235 Third Street, 2299 Market and The Mint Collection in San Francisco, among others. As Principal-in-Charge,
he was also integral to efficiently securing Entitlements and Addenda from the SF Planning Department and DBI. In addition to his significant multifamily and affordable residential experience, William’s portfolio includes design of a monastery in Nepal to boutique
retail in Southern California. He holds a Master of Science in Architecture from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Architecture from SCI Arc - Southern California Institute. BAR is pleased to welcome a team member with both a specialization in multifamily housing and a wide array of projects, complementing BAR’s diverse portfolio.
