636 El Camino garners recognition while collecting two back-to-back awards

San Francisco, CA - 636 El Camino, the new 109-unit workforce housing development in South San Francisco, received impressive accolades at awards ceremonies two nights in a row, from the San Francisco Business Times to Sustainable San Mateo County.

On Wednesday, March 20, hundreds from the architecture and real estate community gathered at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco to honor the Real Estate Deals of the Year. 636 El Camino was awarded Best Affordable Housing Outside of San Francisco.

The very next night the project was honored again at Sustainable San Mateo County's 14th Annual Sustainability and Green Building Awards, where it received the Green Building Award for Multifamily Housing.

"Revitalizing an area along El Camino," the organization noted, "the development exemplifies South San Francisco’s commitment to the vision of walkable, sustainable development along the 'Grand Boulevard,' a pedestrian oriented, transit-rich El Camino Real. Solar panels and solar hot water are only a few of the sustainable features of the creative addition to this South City neighborhood."
