"The first time I visited an architecture firm all I saw were colored pencils and coffee mugs. The large jug of Advil was concerning - but, I was sold."

What excites you about your move to Los Angeles and leading BAR's new LA office?

I believe that there is so much the architectural communities in Los Angeles and San Francisco can share and learn from each other. I came to LA to be part of that discourse for the benefit of our clients and “end users” in both locations. I am looking forward to new and exciting projects at a very unique time in Los Angeles.

What is your personal design philosophy?

The best design goes deeper than responding to any singular notion or question. It’s a reflection of the Architects’ deep understanding of the complex interplay between place, people, use, light, craft and form.
