Seawall Lot 330 is a mixed-use development located on the Embarcadero of San Francisco, directly across from the proposed site of the new Golden State Warriors Arena. BAR has teamed with the New York-based firm Snohetta on the design of this exciting addition to the SF waterfront. The project is comprised of several components – a hotel and residential condominiums over retail along the ground floor across the site, as well as a landscaped podium with a pool, amenity pavilion and residential flats with private gardens.
Two hotel elements straddle a passage from Main Street to the Embarcadero that allows pedestrian cut across the site, as well as providing entry to the hotel. A transparent bridge connects the two hotel elements providing visual connectivity from Main Street to the Bay and vice versa.
The condos are entered from the Embarcadero, framed by a vine wall dipping down from the elevated podium and set back from the street edge. Both this entry and the passage at Main Street, as well as shifts between the two levels of elevated podium, break up the length of the site at the ground plane. In the vertical plane the residential and hotel elements diffuse their vertical presence by treating the facades with a varied treatment rather than a homogenous one.
